The denomination ‘romantic’ suggests the respect of the composer towards the ‘salon music’ of the 19th century, so important in their day and age. On the other hand, ‘European’ represents the good feelings that Johnstone holds of the European Union ogf the 21st century, having shared his life between Spain and England.
